I was moved by your portrayal of my race, and my strong African roots. The main character showed so much amazing development, it just brought a tear to my eye. I loved the fantastic cinematography and the gripping action, it kept me at the edge of my seat. I cried when Big Wook died, it tore me apart on the inside, but seeing the main character profess his love for Tyrone at the end brought out tears of joy. Bravo. This film is a gift from the gods of Africa's children, asalamalakum. 10/10

Kaiblade Episode 3

"Still loving this series"

submission: Kaiblade Episode 3
date: November 8, 2009

Great presentation, not a lot of people go through the trouble of making an original intro/outro. Love the Akire and Jai, thankyou for having ADULT main characters...So sick of a bunch of schoolkids fighting evil and puberty. There's also some damn good voice acting here, they sound natural, which many people don't seem to get the concept of.
Still has the same issues as last time though, this "episode" still doesn't really accomplish anything story-wise. I mean it doesn't add more questions which is good, but it doesn't answer any questions either which is bad. Since you kept in line with the whole anime-style "limited animation" thing you're gonna have to hustle with the storytelling and find a way to add more rewatch value to your stuff. Still lookin forward to more tho! =)

Author's Response:

Thanks! I agree, the story is moving a bit slow but I'm doing this so the viewers can get a good feel of the characters first. It starts to pick up a bit more in the next episode but maybe not enough for your taste. But it will get there so just hold tight =)

He's a genius, his acting was just fantastic, orgasmic, magical. No homo...or no hetero...? eh? eh? Didn't see that shit coming did you!?

Good shit man, your colors have really improved (way more realistic than normal) and the shots were more cinema and less flash cartoon, and of course, the VA was THE SHIT. Also, nice smooth keyframing for the most part. Only complaint, still gotta practice those art fundamentals like anatomy on the characters, but keep it up! =)

September 22, 2009

Author's Response:

I know right? That man is fucking amazing! Everytime I listen to this movie I almost get a hard on from his gruff sexy voice. I keep telling the VA to get out there more but he doesn't listen. He likes to keep the sexiness to himself I guess. Oh well...his loss...or gain..or something...

Thanks. The coloring scheme is one my favorite parts about this movie. Amia helped a lot, so thank her too (hence why she gets some credit). Thanks for noticing the camera shots too. That is probably my favorite part of the movie. I loved playing with Vcam and I intend to keep doing so in future works.

The art will come. My next work will have better anatomy. Actually I've been meaning to ask you where you got your posing doll thing? I feel like that would help a lot. PM me will ya?

Madness Duel

"You never cease to amaze me"

submission: Madness Duel
date: September 22, 2009

You have pretty much made your name in my book as the sickest fight animator on Newgrounds, shat horrible diarrhea all over the real Madness (Which works better than NyQuil if you can't sleep), and managed to instill horrible angry jealousy in me. The animation was okay, it seems a little wonky and rushed, and not so original with the fan cartoon premise, but damned if you didn't have the sickest shots and beastiest choreography I've seen in a Flash fight scene. Keep up the good work man, I love your shit.

Kaiblade Episode 2

"Very cool"

submission: Kaiblade Episode 2
date: August 31, 2009

This toon has great presentation, a little intro animation, a slick simplistic style, great voice acting and everything. I love the "camera-usage" effect too, there's lots of that and I think it looks cool as hell with your drawing style.

I have my complaints though, the story seems kinda weak at this point (Mysterious kid with big appetite....ugh...) but it's nothing that can't be improved, I've seen much worse. The biggest problem here is that this submission isn't satisfying at all. I realize that if you're making a series, it can relieve you of some storytelling obligations such as closure because there'll be more episodes, but wouldn't you want to give your fans a heaping helping of dat anime luvvin' instead of teasing them? I know I was waaay into it at that point where you cut it off. For a series like this, I think you should take at least a good 6-8 minutes to make sure you accomplish something storywise, and that your watchers walk away satisfied. That's just my opinion anyway, God knows I'm guilty of the same thing. Can't wait to see more, keep up the good work

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review. I thought ending it at that point was a good place to stop, but episode 3 will definitely be longer. Not sure if i can make 6-8mins but we'll see.

As for the story not much was shown in this episode but there is a great story coming. I didn't want to overwhelm anyone with mind blowing story at the start i was trying to slowly take them in. sort of like having them test the water before going in.

"The power and style Newgrounds is missing..."

submission: Tarboy

That was pretty damn sweet man. The drawings looked fantastic, as well as the character designs, the animation, and the backgrounds. It had perfect balance as far as detail, everything was in the right place. As much tweening as there was, it was seamless, you forget you're watching a web cartoon. The VA, sound, and storyline were also very, very well done. This is truly something amazing, loved it. 10/10.

Life with Navi

"Love your new style"

submission: Life with Navi
date: August 19, 2009

Your new style is a huge step up from Asoaroki (I know I probably spelled that shit wrong), and I think it looks really good, it's also alot more animated. The movements look a bit strange though, because at some points old boy's face and anatomy changed shape really fast. I guess maybe as a suggestion, make sure to take close care that the anatomy stays consistent with animating unless the character is making a really fast movement. I think anything with shotguns is amusing, but I guess I didn't get a big laugh because I haven't touched a Zelda game since the original on NES. Regardless, looks good to me!

Closing In

"Pretty damn sweet!"

submission: Closing In
date: August 3, 2009

I loved it. The color choices were great, and I love your drawing style. The plot was pretty cool too, a simple concept that went a long way. There's some complaints, I think the animations could be a lot smoother and use more keyframes for how simplistic your style is, and maybe some more realistic timing, other than that I can't find much wrong with it. Sleepless Ep.1

"The storyline is brutal..."

submission: Sleepless Ep.1
date: July 21, 2009

You've improved in Flash since the last iteration, but it doesn't seem like you've learned much about presentation. The character designs are nice, and the voice acting is solid. But the graphics still look so rough and jagged and not in a stylish way, because there's holes in the characters in a lot of places to where you can see the background, and white spots in the background where there wasn't enough cleanup. However, things like that can be forgiven for good storytelling, and here's what turns me off.

This cartoon accomplishes nothing. It talks in cryptics and has a bunch of shit thrown in that's impossible to understand for anybody except you who created it (not because it's the first Episode, that was my favorite excuse when I first started out). YOU as the artist were impatient with the storytelling and didn't take your audience into consideration when you made it. I can see your main priority with this flash was showing off all the characters and fires and fights and mystic conversations about killing sages and disappearing boys whose girlfriends cry.

When you make any flash, regardless of whether it's the first in a series or not, don't confuse your audience, you want to accomplish something story-wise so your audience walks away with some knowledge about what's going on and MAYBE a question or two, instead of "Hey that was kinda cool but what the hell was going on." It'll make things easier on you later on if you be more mindful of this, and easier on the audience. Now you have to work double-time to answer all the questions you created with this flash in later episodes, don't add anymore mysteries, please... Whether it's the first episode or not, that's no excuse for inconsiderate writing.

No hard feelings I hope Sci-fi, just being honest. I look forward to more of your work, I know you're still just getting your feet wet with flash.

Author's Response:

meh heh heh! i'm glad you checked this out. considering your one of the few who knew it was a remake. but i'll have to dissagree. i dont much pride my self as an artist as i do a story teller, and everything loped into this script was purposeful. it may seem like an excuse i suppose, but there was alot of consideration when thinking about how and what should be included in this episode. but it would be simply to much to fit 10 or 15 flashes. wait for the extras. it might lighten things up a bit. i made this so that it would be one part of a whole. the extra's will help fill in some gaps but only a bit. as time goes on it will make sense. i want it to be one of those things that people look back at and say "OOH ok now i get it" again you could be saying...whatever full of bs. but no. and yeah my style is kind of lazy when it comes to cleaning, and coloring, no excuses, i just dont have that high of a standard for myself. thanks so much for the review, i hope you continue to watch. it'll be really confusing the second episode. just like last time
